Those Last Few Moments

Today is the day  before Resurrection Sunday.  Everything is ready over at church.  We’re poised for a great morning of celebration and worship.

Reflecting on the hours between now and tomorrow morning (Jesus was still in the tomb on Saturday), a new thought came to mind.  Tomorrow morning at church we’ll all be ready, waiting for the minute hand on the clock to say “NOW” and we’ll begin.  I wonder if Jesus was awake, set, and ready before the earthquake.  I wonder if he waited inside for the angel to come roll the stone away, opening the door for him to step out into the freedom He had won for all mankind.

I’d like to think that’s how it was; a countdown.
Heaven’s team is poised to run the very play the enemy has been dreading.
Ready?
Now!
