Psalm 1

There are two poles to every battery, I know, the tide has ebb and flo, high and low, physics has actions and reactions, but today I’m thinking on and enjoying the positive side of Psalm 1.

Blessed (happy) is the man … whose delight is in the law of the LORD and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.

Whatever he does prospers.

The LORD watches over the way of the righteous.

If that isn’t enough to put a quiet confident smile on the lips, an optimistic outlook behind sparkling eyes, and the bounce in a person’s step as one turns to face the day I don’t know what would!

Oh the joys of a right relationship with God, the delight of the obedient life!
