I Believe …
… another post from my sister, Jonell …
This Sunday is Easter Sunday … or as I like to call it Resurrection Sunday! What hope we have because Jesus died on Calvary … and because He rose from the dead!!!! We can smile, we can sing, we can be assured of eternity in heaven with Him, all because He gave His life for us … and because we have believed and asked Him to be our Savior!
Enjoy the lyrics below, and let them run around in your mind for the next week or so.
I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary
Verse 1:
I believe in a hill called Mount Calvary
I believe whatever the cost
And when time has surrendered
And earth is no more
I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross
Verse 2:
I believe that this life with its great mysteries
Surely someday will come to an end
But faith will conquer the darkness and death
And will lead at last to my friend
Verse 3:
I believe that the Christ
Who was slain on the cross
Has the power to change lives today
For He changed me completely
A new life is mine
And that is why by the cross
I will stay
Chorus:
I believe in a hill called Mount Calvary
I believe whatever the cost
And when time has surrendered
And earth is no more
I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross

Amen…love that song too. My son is five and is so intrigued with WHY Christ died on the cross. When He was our savior, on earth, WHY did bad men want to kill him? It’s a big lesson to teach a five year old, but one I hope he’ll continue to learn his whole life.
Great thoughts to ponder this weekend, Jonell,
(Glad your birthday was a GOOD one, btw)
Chip made the point in one of his messages recently that we are not fighting for a victory in day to day life, we are fighting FROM a victory.
Jesus paid it – all.
He won the victory – once for all.
That should infuse those of us who believe with remarkable confidence as we live day to day!
