Home-again, Home-again
It was a wonderful trip, you-all, thanks for your prayers. Completely safe, no breakdowns or mishaps.
Mom says “You either have a good trip or come home with a good story” 🙂 This was a good trip, and again I’m a thankful man.
I’ve paddled like crazy today to get back up to speed after being out on Friday, and with five minutes to go in the workday, I’m happy to inform you, “We’re caught up.”
Today’s header and some new pictures in Flickr (see the sidebar on the right) have snapshots from the weekend. We got to see Tim, my youngest nephew on that branch of the family tree, play short-stop and pitcher in a couple of games he played on Saturday. The weather was perfect, the conversation lighthearted and fun, and we all came away with a touch of sunburn. Nice. Oh, and yes, they won all four games in the weekend tournament. There’s a “mercy-rule” in their league or conference that once a team is ahead by fifteen, they call the game. Friday night’s games the Lowell Arrows put that rule to use after the third inning in the first game and after the fifth in the second game. (ouch!) Saturday’s games were closer contests.
The concerts were WONderful, dinner at the Chinese Buffet after Saturday afternoon’s concert was to die for! (A bit more over-eating and a couple of us might have!)
Take a look at the pictures – they’re worth eight or ten thousand words. I’m off to join the evening commute. 🙂
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip to the old neighborhood! Sorry and disappointed we could not connect. I will be picking up Karen 5-3-07 (Thursday). Will you be making that trip as well?
Hi Dave – WE MISSED YA!
There’s a possibility, yes. There’s also a chance Jared will be able to store some of his things with a friend so won’t need me to come get the big stuff.
I’ll keep you posted!
Phil,
It was good to see you (and your family) again on Saturday and enjoy Jared’s concert (and meet Meagan). What fun to enjoy conversation and laughter over dinner. Knowing that we have an inner bond (brother & sister) brings me inner joy! 🙂
You don’t have to bribe, you don’t have to pay, but we have some pictures of Jared and Meagan on our camera. I’ll try to send tonight after we get home from Missions Conference.
And I took a steeple picture from the parking lot of St. Cecilia Music Society. Couldn’t move the power lines out of the way, but maybe you can enjoy it anyway.
Thanks again for the great Saturday!
Jonell
Welcome back Phil! Glad you enjoyed the trip! I noticed that your red dots on the mapcluster are appearing more and more! Also, just wanted to let you know that I am pondering your prayer post. –Haven’t had a lot of time this week to research or seek out questions and answers, but look forward to the continuance of the series.
–Taking the 3 yr old to the dr again tomorrow. We’re having a tough time clearing a recent unexplained outbreak of oral thrush. He’s been through so much the past two years, I would appreciate your prayers.
God Bless,
Julie
Thanks, Jonell, It WAS a great time. God is good!
Julie, Here’s praying for an accurate diagnosis – and some relief!
There’s an old saying “A parent is only as happy as his/her most miserable child” We parents feel it for our kids big-time, don’t we? We’ll ask together with you that good health returns – soon.
Phil—
PS – It’s fun watching the map coverage grow. Humbling too! Really? This is being read that far away? Amazing.
